In my first 3 weeks I have become a more informed shopper with very little experience and I have received a few questions from some people and they seem to be the same questions, so I figured I would answer everyone at once. These answers are based off of my experience and nothing else, you will need to test my observations to see if they work for you:
Sara asked “How are you saving so much with each purchase”
First, I try not to buy anything that isn’t on sale, that is more difficult with Meats but that is my new motto. Once something goes on sale at Publix, I look for a Manufacturer coupon and a retailer coupon (Walgreen’s, CVS, Target). Publix is great because for every item they let you use a Manufacturer coupon and a retailer coupon. That’s why the BOGO’s (Buy one, get one) Free sales are amazing.
Example:
The Kellogg’s Cereal is BOGO Free this week.
Cereal 4.39
Cereal 4.39
Minus BOGO (4.39)
Total B4 Coupons 4.39
Manufacturer $1.5/2 (1.50)
Target $1/2 (1.00)
Total after coupons 1.89 for 2 boxes of Kellogg’s cereal
If you do that for each item, you could end up will really cheap items or even overage on your purchase.
Ashley asked “Where do you get the coupons?”
First place I start is the I heart Publix website. She normally has the weekly ads on the website the Monday or Tuesday before the Ad starts on Thursday. This is where I see what goes on sale. Then I go to the Manufacturers site as well as Hot Coupon World website to find the coupons. They normally tell me where to find the coupon (Sunday Paper, Internet, Retailer, etc.) Most of my coupons come from the web. So I grab the scratch paper from work and start printing.
